Hilton Hotels Corporation announced today that Alexander Mirza has been named to the newly-created position of senior vice president of corporate development. Leveraging his significant hospitality industry expertise in both the corporate and consulting environments, he will likely be working company-wide on cool product development and partnerships, including food and beverage offerings, health clubs and spas, and others. Mirza will be based at the Hilton Hotels Corporation World Headquarters in Beverly Hills and reports straight to Matthew J. Hart, president and chief operating officer.

Prior to joining Hilton, Mirza was a senior executive inside the travel and transportation practice at Accenture. Just before Accenture, Mirza was head of strategic planning at Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, where he was accountable for brand positioning, development planning and business innovation. Mirza started his career initially Financial, Inc. and opened the very first U.S. office servicing corporate high net-worth clients. His consulting background includes a long period of project management knowledge of Deloitte/Braxton Associates inside the regions of value-based management, growth strategy and globalization.

Mirza was subsequently a senior principal at Strategos, an innovation consultancy where he worked with Hotel Management within the luxury hospitality, travel, consumer and asset management industries in the areas of customer strategy, new product development and service innovation. Mirza holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, using a concentrate on brand marketing and corporate strategy. Also, he holds an M.A. in Economics along with a B.A. Honors from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada.
